Your students know the content. They can define stroke volume. They can list the principles of training. And they still lose marks.
It is rarely a knowledge gap. It is the verb.
A student who describes a question that asked them to analyse, or explains one that asked them to evaluate, has done a different job to the one the marker was looking for.
Same Health and Movement Science content, wrong task. With 2026 the first HSC under the new Health and Movement Science syllabus and no past papers to benchmark against, the Glossary of Key Words is the clearest signal your students have about what a marker actually wants.
In this episode Kelly Bell shares the three-step approach she taught at the 2026 HMS Summit, drawn from 22 years teaching Stage 6, 16 years as an HSC marker and over 40,000 student responses.
You will learn:
- Why explain and discuss demand completely different structures
- How to model the difference for students instead of assuming they picked it up
- Why AI cannot help you here and what to do instead
